Lost 16 Pounds in 3 Months
INITIAL VISIT - Female, Age: 69 Weight: 227 Medical History: Obesity, Type 2 Diabetes, High cholesterol, GERD, Migraine, Hypertension Medication: Metformin 500mg twice daily, Omeprazole 40mg once daily, Pravastatin 10mg once daily
3 MONTHS LATER - Weight: 211
Lifestyle changes included adopting a whole food plant-based diet and walking 30 minutes a day.
*Participant was NOT on any weight loss medication. A1C level also decreased from 7.0 to 6.1. Blood pressure has been the lowest it’s been in years. The average decreased from 120’s/70’s to 110’s/70’s.

Blood Pressure Control
INITIAL VISIT - Male, Age: 56 Average Blood Pressure: 122/84 Medical History: High blood pressure, pre-diabetes, high cholesterol, Chronic Kidney Failure stage 3 Medication: Benazepril/Amlodipine 10mg/5mg daily
10 MONTHS LATER Average Blood Pressure: 118/78 Medication: NONE
Lifestyle changes included change in diet and 1-on-1 meetings with a lifestyle medicine provider every 1-2 weeks.
*Participant also lowered cholesterol levels and did not need to start a statin, his A1C went back to normal range, and his kidney function improved.

INITIAL VISIT - Female, Age: 62 A1C: 8.2 Medical History: Newly diagnosed Diabetes Type 2, high cholesterol, obesity, high blood pressure Medication: Atenolol-Chlorthalidone 100/25mg daily, Omeprazole 20mg twice daily
3 MONTHS LATER - A1C: 6.4
Lifestyle changes included change in diet and 1-on-1 meetings with a lifestyle medicine provider every 1-2 weeks.
*Participant did not want to start diabetes medication at all. Medication was never started. She denied diabetic symptoms.
